Share without attachments
Instead of attaching a file to an email, create a share link for a document or a whole folder. Each link has one of three access modes:
- Anyone with the link, without a Paperplane account.
- Specific email recipients, who confirm their address with a one-time code before the document opens.
- People in this workspace, for sharing with colleagues who already have access to Paperplane.
Sign directly in the PDF
Draw with a mouse or finger, or upload a signature image, and place it on the PDF. This simple electronic signature works in any modern browser and suits everyday documents. Not every document or legal act accepts an electronic signature, so check the requirements for your document before using this method.
The sender’s journey
- Choose the PDF to be signed.
- Create the request with the recipient’s email address. Each request stays open for signing for 30 days.
- Send the protected signature link.
- Follow the status: open, awaiting your review, completed or rejected. Requests past their deadline or revoked by you can no longer be signed.
- Review the submission, approve or reject it, and find the signed PDF stored as a new document.
The recipient’s journey
- Open the protected link. No Paperplane account is needed.
- Confirm the expected email address with a one-time code.
- Review or download the PDF.
- Draw a signature or upload a signature image, and place it on the document. Alternatively, upload a PDF that was already signed elsewhere.
- Submit. The sender reviews the result.
Upload an already signed PDF
If a document was signed outside Paperplane, the recipient can upload the signed PDF instead; it goes through the same review and, once approved, is stored next to the original.
